I'll admit, the first 2-3 runs I played, I thought the game was cool and certainly understood "Smash Bros. combat in a roguelite"... but I didn't go back for a few days.
Luckily, those mechanics synergize fantastically with the this game's implementation of the core gameplay loop so I certainly won't complain.
Similarly to Hades, the structure of the levels and the monsters don't really change between runs, but unlike Hades, which has tons of story content and end-game unlockables, the amount of content here is definitely lighter.
The graphics in this game look amazing in 4k.
As a side note, even though it didn't affect me, I'm surprised this game doesn't have coop multiplayer in it.
The music is great; voice-lines, characters, and environment mesh together perfectly!
