Privacy

Crit has no accounts, so there is no profile to build and nothing to sell.

What Crit does not do

• No accounts. You cannot sign up, and there is nothing to sign in to.
• No cookies. Crit sets none, for any purpose, including preferences.
• No analytics. There is no analytics provider, no tracking pixel, no fingerprinting, and no session recording.
• No advertising. Crit runs no ad network, so no third party is given an opportunity to track you across sites.
• No sale or sharing of personal data. There is none collected to sell.

Because Crit sets no cookies and runs no trackers, there is no consent banner. A banner would be asking permission for something that is not happening.

What is unavoidable

Like any website, the server that delivers these pages processes your request in order to answer it, and the hosting provider may keep standard access logs containing details such as an IP address, the page requested, and a timestamp. These are operational records used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse. They are not linked to an identity, not used to build a profile, and not combined with anything else.

Third parties your browser does contact

Crit embeds no trackers, but two things on the page are fetched from elsewhere, and both see your IP address the way any request does:

• Google Fonts serves the two typefaces the site is set in.
• Valve's content delivery network serves game artwork, so opening a game page requests images from Steam's servers much as visiting a store page does.

Neither is given anything about you beyond the request itself, and neither is used to identify you.

Leaving the site

Game pages link out to Steam. Once you follow one you are on Valve's site and Valve's privacy policy applies. Crit adds no tracking parameters to those links.

Changes

If any of this changes, it changes on this page first, and any change that affects what is collected will be described here rather than announced as a general policy update.
