It is built for the moment you are already in, with a store page open and a discount counting down. Crit reads the reviews so you do not have to, and gives you the call in the time it takes to read a paragraph.
Why you should trust us
The reviews are the authority, not Crit. Crit does not play games and does not review them. It reads what players already wrote on Steam, weighs those reviews against each other, and reports what the weight of them says. A review score is an opinion compressed into a number, and by the time it reaches you the part that mattered is gone: why.
Nothing but reviews moves a verdict. How it works names what counts and, more usefully, what is excluded: critic scores, price, commission, and editorial judgment. Scoring is deterministic and no result is adjusted by hand, so the same reviews always produce the same verdict and there is no thumb on the scale.
Crit says nothing when it cannot say something honest. When a game has too few reviews to support an answer, it does not get a confident one. A precise number over eleven reviews is worse than no number at all.
How Crit makes money
It does not, today. Outbound store links carry no affiliate tag and earn nothing. If that changes, it will be stated on the affiliate disclosure page before it goes live, and it will never affect a score or a ranking. No developer, publisher, or store can pay to change a verdict, a ranking, or where a game appears.
Where the data comes from
Steam, and only Steam. Crit reads the same public review, price, and catalog data any visitor can see, then processes it in bulk. Prices are re-checked continuously, review history is refreshed on a schedule, and nothing is fetched from a store while you are reading a page.
