Affiliate disclosure

Crit currently earns nothing from outbound links. Every store link on the site is a plain Steam URL with no affiliate tag, no referral code, and no tracking parameter attached.

This page exists because disclosure rules are about admitting a paid relationship you actually have. Claiming one that does not exist is not caution, it is just another inaccurate statement, and it tells you the verdicts are bought when they are not.

If that ever changes

Affiliate revenue is a reasonable way to fund a site like this, and Crit may take it on later. If it does, these commitments hold:

• This page changes first. It will name which stores pay a commission and what the arrangement is, before any tagged link goes live.
• Ranking never moves. Commission is not an input to any score, verdict, or list. The producers that compute rankings have no access to commercial data, which is a property of how the system is built rather than a policy someone has to remember.
• Tagged links are marked. A link that earns a commission will be identifiable as one at the point you click it, not only here.
• The price you pay is unchanged. A commission is paid by the store out of its own margin. It is never added to your purchase.

What Crit does not do

Crit accepts no payment for coverage, placement, or a score. No developer, publisher, or store can buy a verdict, buy a slot in a list, or have a verdict removed for being unflattering.

Going direct

You are never required to use a link on this page or anywhere else on the site. Every game page shows the Steam appid in its own URL, so you can always search the store yourself and reach exactly the same page.
