The difficulty curve is perfect.
It's goofy to be able to go into the options menu, slide the "sliders" slider to reveal more sliders, and then turn up a slider whose sole purpose appears to just make it sound like there's a dog in the background.
After putting about 15 hours in it I bought a copy for a friend (at full price with DLCs) who loved it as well.
