Battlezone 98 Redux

The UI, voice lines, sountrack, controls and physics make the game super immersive - and the variety of vehicles, facilities, buildings and weapons grant the player a sheer endless amount of options and therefore replayability.

While they made a sequel, Battlezone II: Combat Commander, I always preferred the original because the graphics had a smoother, silky-smoother, fluid, and graceful look, the design and art style was better - with a more rustic 1950s military in space-look.

The base game's campaign is very good, has a good story, great and memorable levels that are a lot of fun to play and replay.

The difference, however, is Battlezone is technically superior, and has more RTS elements better married to FPS/TPS whereas Uprising relies on capturing fixed locales limiting what you can build/where, and you're stuck in the FPS/TPS perspectives to do everything in).

These improvements give the environments and combat sequences new life while preserving the charm and aesthetic identity of the 1998 release.

The game also features multiplayer which was easy then, and now to use, in that it takes you to a lobby and you can start a game or join a game.
