I chose the 17th century English option and I found it absolutely beautiful to read and listen to; I think it is deliberately written to be poetic (although it's hard to disentangle that from the language of that time period sounding poetic to modern ears in general!) and it has the effect of heightening the emotion and atmosphere while still effectively communicating important plot details.

The combat can get quite complicated, but the UI does a great job of showing what the results will be, so if you're having trouble understanding, I suggest taking a second and working through the combat one step at a time. took a while to understand it all, but that makes it really rewarding
