What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Story is decent and engaging, but not world changing.
For once, it is great to see the game that fully utilizes the power of hardware to deliver some truly beautiful visuals.
What's more important is how great the gameplay is.
On top of that, the game feels properly optimized - I did not experience any framerate drops or stuttering during my playthrough.
The maps are super fun to explore, there is a great in depth weapon customization system, all made for VR with physical interactions rather than a boring menu.
I played Arken Age on the Valve Index, and it delivers a powerfully immersive VR journey: melee and ranged combat feel weighty and responsive, with satisfying parries, weapon mods, and physics-based interactions; traversal through climbing, swimming, and vertical exploration is smooth and gratifying; the environments are lush, detailed, and vivid, and the audio design complements the visuals beautifully; there are strong comfort options (standing/seated mode, vignette/teleportation, smooth locomotion etc.), though some motion intensity may challenge newcomers; navigation suffers a bit because you can’t drop custom markers and rely on teleport pods a lot; overall, with a 10-15 hour campaign plus side content and exploration, Arken Age delivers a highly immersive, polished VR experience and is among the stronger recent VR titles i have see so far (especially when experienced with high-end hardware).

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
