The Vale: Shadow of the Crown

The main story and voice acting were really high quality and I really enjoyed how it all unfolded at the end.

Being purely audio, the voice acting and music is pretty good, as you could expect.

The uniqueness of gameplay of The Vale is enough to try, and its quality for being developed by such a small group is admirable and impressive.

Combat is interesting and a bit overwhelming; I was fine against one enemy but had to mostly dial it down to casual ("how embarrassing! I play Sniper Elite 5 on authentic") after losing the multi-enemy fights about twenty times each on normal difficulty.

I like to think that behind the black screen and floating dots, there's actually an in-game engine with amazing graphics

There's a very reasonable learning curve, and it was never too difficult (or too easy) thanks to just the right amount of tutorial sprinkled throughout what was going on.
