Young Souls

The combat and progression are very satisfying, with many different move combinations that can be performed on enemies, equipment with different abilities and different ways to spec your two characters allowing for different playstyles and strategies.

The world-building and story are genuinely strong for a 2D action brawler.

Young Souls, despite it's rather generic name instantly got my attention and motivated me to play more from the first second of gameplay.

Cooperative play further enhances the experience, allowing a second player to join and control one of the twins, bringing back the camaraderie of classic couch co-op while benefiting from modern design sensibilities.

The art style is gorgeous but the world itself pretty small with little to nothing to see other than a few interesting characters and bland boring dungeon 3D backgrounds that could very well be asset flips.

There's multiple difficulty options and accessibility settings to customize how hard the gameplay is, which is always a good thing to see in a video game.
