Hard Reset Extended Edition

The good variety of enemies, united with a total of ten weapons with three upgrades each modifying how they function, then excellent variety of environments, settings do the rest and fully manage to build a beautiful shooter.

This title stands out positively for many reasons, doing exactly what an FPS is supposed to in terms of gameplay, pacing and overall structure, even if it detaches from the strictly old-school genre by introducing "modern" mechanics such as RPG-style weapon upgrading, but apart from this deviation every other gameplay element stays true to pure shooters.

The Redux version brings 1 more enemy type (zombie like), 1 more weapon (sword) and a dash move, this along the improved graphics, performance and more balance to the game - if you own the original, I would say that this is not worth it, unless you want to support the devs or have extra cash at hand.

The game runs smoothly, no FPS spikes, the dozen or so near-simultaneous explosions are an eye-candy.

Sound design is viscerally pleasing and makes the cities feel lived in, despite having very little organic life.

The controls are very well optimized, most of the weapons have some weight to them, and the action keeps coming at a constant pace.
