I can't overstate how different each faction feels to play and go up against, making for a massive amount of variation in Root's gameplay, while feeling very well-balanced.

It was nice to play it here and not manually in Tabletop Sim, and the Async functionality was great for my group of friends.

it masters the depth of multiplayer wargames while conseriving on game duration without dragging beyond 1.5 hours (usually) a great deal of table talk and lovely art aswell.

As for its presentation, Root does a wonderful job of adapting that of the board game, with a charming cartoonish art style that uses the original assets wherever possible while making sensible adjustments to the layout of tableaus, cards etc.

There’s also some decent sound design on display, featuring punchy sound effects and a fitting soundtrack, my only wish for which would be to include more tracks.
