What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
A Book of Beasts and Buddies can be completed within an hour and is a very laid-back and original experience offering adorable cartoon characters, fun interactions, charmingly quirky dialogue and narration and a good dollop of humour.
9/10 Visuals: Adorable creations, some based on familar JRPG monsters, others easily fitting in with Pokemon (and not in a crappy fan art way) A blend of photos and digital art makes for an adorable atmosphere.
-Amazing soundtrack
I hope more monsters get added over time, this gameplay is something I really enjoy but don't usually find to this quality.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
