Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

With community projects like Forged Alliance Forever continuing development, balancing the game, and keeping multiplayer alive, this RTS still has an active player base years after release.

Mediocre campaign generally speaking, but containing the BEST real-time strategy gameplay... ever.

The campaign especially is masterfully done, the tutorial is usually what id expect from mission 1, but mission 1 they throw you right in the frying pan with tier 3 and everything to hold off a massive advance on your position.

And with Forged Alliance Forever you can actually play the campaign Co-op with your friends, it's pretty awesome.

Behind the steep learning curve and the very small scale match start lies pure strategy that is more refined and accessible.

And that's to say nothing of the giant robots, super lasers, nuclear explosions, murmurations of fighters, booming cannons, smoking wrecks, sinking battleships, parallel missile trails, shimmering shields, clanking factories, trampled trees, calculated projectile physics, and the noble yet invigorating militaristic soundtrack.
