The dialogue was excellent: it captures a certain essence that I would characterize as "you're on your transbian friend's Discord server in a meme channel called #girls-eating-cereal and someone just posted a thirst trap of their ankle tattoo," and I mean that in actually the best way.
The core gameplay is very unique and takes (in my opinion) the best parts from several combat systems from games like Valkrie Profile and FFXIII.
The soundtrack elevates this even further: its mix of synth-pop tracks, driving beats, and emotional themes gives the game a strong musical identity.
The graphics are ... well, you can see them, but honestly it's one of the more striking games I've played.
• Definitely plays better with a controller (attacks are commanded with A, B, X, Y buttons), but you can reassign key bindings for the keyboard.
Well worth the DLC price and then some, or at least a try for free if you're on the fence.
