Supreme Commander

Never got to play this when it came out as my computer just couldn't handle it, but lately I've been in need of a solid singleplayer campaign story-driven RTS, and decided to finally see how good this is, and it vowed me in the first hour.

This is a good Retroish RTS that appears at first sight to just be bigger, better, with more toys and layers without sacrificing the core gameplay loop you want out of something in that C&C RTS style.

But still, the combat, the simple foundation yet with a lot of detailed upgrades and layers on top of it, the massive scale, the look and feel of the units and the graphics still being good enough is I think reason enough to recommend this.

I've found that the easiest way to use multiplayer is to forward ports.

The large-scale nature of combat creates epic moments where hundreds of units clash, supported by devastating artillery barrages, air strikes, and naval engagements.

Storytelling is decent aswell, classic early 2000's cutscenes, utterly cheesy dialogue and voice acting, everyone is evil and it's fun.
