The midgame is pretty gentle once you master optimized cloaking, but also inconsistent that the nauticrawl can't die in zeppelin mode by radiation or crashing into the Magmatic Sea, or hypercharge mode just restarts the launch sequence if it becomes unbalanced, especially after the unforgiving early game, when movement and exploration has a fun and steep learning curve.
