Aside from the unexpected, but fulfilling narrative I found the cast with Ash to be endearing and full of quirks and sharp edges pulling me into their discordant harmony.

The gameplay is tight as hell and lets you do all sorts of really stylish aerial maneuvers, that you could only dream of pulling in games like Ace Combat.

I gotta say it’s no Keiki Kobayashi, but honestly that dude is a legend for their work on Ace Combat from 4 onwards, but Fat Bard who composes the soundtrack for JL, does a respectable effort leaning towards high intensity bit tracks to keep our adrenaline pumping, without boring the pilots to tears.
