For what it’s worth in helping others who are wondering whether this is the sort of game they’ll enjoy, my two favorite genres of video games are RPGs (especially Elden Ring, Hogwarts Legacy, and Dragon Quest XI S) and cozy games (especially Coral Island, Disney Dreamlight Valley, and Animal Crossing), and I most value the quality of “exploration” in games.
