What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I want hard levels, I wanna crash myself trying different loadouts and tactics (like on the first Brigador, by the way!); what I don't want is busiwork and a pretty much unnecessary farming by repeating previous levels all over again.
Definitely a fun little arcade city destruction experience, but the longevity and narrative theming of BK here ("insurgency sim" as a descriptor) felt a lot more compelling to me, on top of the intersection of playable infantry and mech combat being a rarity in games.
This brings the afore mentioned stealth into play where you can sneak up on them and melee them when they split up which was a great thing to actually get into and use, really brought me back to the older MGS games.
But the massive quantity of distinctive guns, the writing, the soundtrack, the feel of taking on masses of NOSPOL gang-police, the ingenuity of assembling a build, then constructing a combat vehicle from scrap metal and an uber-eats delivery truck?
I don't typically go for this type of art style but holy lord the work that must have gone into this is insane.
