What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Enemy death, attack, hit reaction animations are fluid and polished, while weapons give out a really good feel when using them, with clean believable sounds and weight to their shots.
Project Warlock (PW) is one of those nostalgia-filled trips, taking players straight back to the '90s, succeeding in recreating almost flawlessly the true feel and gameplay of the legendary FPS of old, such as DOOM, Heretic, Hexen, Quake and the likes.
The thing impressing me the most straight out of the box was the really well-made pixel art graphics, purposefully low-res but also detailed and precise in their realization.
Very good soundtrack and effects, PW is solid on both of these areas and does not disappoint.
Rock solid performance for the whole game, save for the last boss, where major FPS drops were registered throughout the whole fight.
The game is long enough to be a satisfying experience, but still short enough that it never gets stale, especially given the huge enemy roster and massive arsenal of guns and spells.
