From the opening sequence, the game establishes its playful tone with bold narration, comic-book panels, and exaggerated dialogue straight out of the Silver Age.
Gameplay in Freedom Force is a hybrid of real-time tactics and role-playing systems.
The graphics are totally like those you can see on comics made in the '60s and the '70s.
The shining features of the game are undoubtedly its self-aware corniness, the ability to create your own superhero and fight alongside freedom force with them (Cancerquake did his duty well), and the voice acting.
The bosses are inovative and while not too hard I broke a sweat or two more than once.
Not only was it an extreme hassle to get a multiplayer game running (about 18 of the 20 minutes I spent playing it was on trying to get it to work), but once the game did start, it barely functioned, with my brother unable to even act while I wailed away at his characters.
