In-game, there had long been mod support to be able to add/create your own moves and/or characters.
The developers are very responsive on their official Discord server, and the overall community (important in multiplayer-focused games) seems very friendly and excited to have more people on board.
EndCycle VS's gameplay is inspired by the Mega Man Battle Network series, but it manages to make itself stand on its own.
