The multiplayer definitely had its flaws in the early stages of Polytopia's Steam release, however it has been greatly improved as of the time of this review.
It's a super fun and simple empire building sim, with cute graphics and a compelling game loop.

Sound design is minimalist, with charming tribal tunes and satisfying audio cues, though it might feel repetitive over longer sessions.
I will say that I haven't had too much luck finding random online matches, however I am sure that if one so desires they could find groups online who participate in matchmaking/seeking.
