Story and characters
Players who bring up Story and characters mostly praise it.
Promising a dark, affecting story, depth-charging exploration and high-octane action, I can honestly say Depths of Sanity delivers on all counts.

Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.
While I don't think the gameplay is anything truly original, it nails the Metroidvania formula, hitting all the staples just right.

Players who bring up Graphics mostly praise it.
The graphics throughout are a highlight.

Controls
Players who bring up Controls mostly praise it.
While the sluggishness of your submarine's acceleration and turning seems to be a deliberate design choice to evoke the feel of maneuvering through the high-pressure oceanic depths; the game recommends the use of a controller and after playing for some hours I tried switching to mouse and keyboard and found that much. much easier, at least to aim with.

The presentation is wrapped up by an excellent chip soundtrack with several memorable tunes that will stick with you long after you're done playing.
