Later on and after finding more abilities, health points and ammo for your secondary weapons, the fear of dying and losing all progress goes away as you can just tank most enemy attacks and hit them with incredibly devastating secondary weapons such as a literal screen nuke.

Graphics and sound are simple oldschool styles but crisp - no losing yourself or anybody's shots due to backgrounds or other action.
