It was sometime since I finished the base game and my expectations weren't high, some new factions, new heroes, and a bit of a new story.
It's a ~20 hours of excellent story with solid gameplay.
The voice acting of every line hits right on the spot and that's the highlight for me.
Lighting and weather effects help create a strong sense of immersion, especially during nighttime exploration or large sieges illuminated by fire and magic.
This is clearly a concession for multiplayer in the engine, but it doesn't do the RPG side any favours.
