Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition

If you’re interested in learning multiplayer, I would highly recommend watching YouTube videos from the likes of Hera and Spirit of the Law, who are great at teaching the game through their content while also explaining their reasoning and logic behind particular strategies.

Enough civilization variety to keep it interesting and different, but the core gameplay loop is consistent enough to where you can try a new civilization and not feel lost.

The 2d art style still looks amazing and the level design has a great amount of detail.

This was an amazing experience and my only real critique is that it feels like a real shame how little co-op campaigns there are compared to how many single player campaigns.

Enjoy the learning campaign and the skirmishes that may have you walling up chokepoints, filling towers and castles with archers to defend against the onslaught of AI armies, or embrace the big learning curve that is competitive multiplayer with some hilarity along the way.

The narrative is simplified enough to be digestible, but rich enough to spark real curiosity.
