What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
Both games have rogue-like elements, such as perma-death and procedural generation, and both games include elements of what some of my colleagues might refer to as 'rogue-lite' elements, such as meta-progression, allowing you to gradually improve your chances between plays through Fate.
An elaborate game with an interesting world and clever writing... which sadly collapses under its own weight.
Graphics are interesting, with nice-looking star scapes in ship view backgrounds and colourful, though sometimes confusing to comprehend, ship interiors.
Really did wish the devs did a follow up(DLC in this case) to extend the story or maybe a epilogue as to how it started.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
