TL;DR: Clunky controls, best campaign progression i have ever played and a GENIUS post-game!
Gameplay revolves around defending key areas from the encroaching proto-life while expanding and improving defensive structures.
Visually, Protolife adopts a pixel-inspired art style presented from a top-down perspective.
every mission in the main campaign adds a little something to the experience, the difficulty ramps up nicely (I'm about 2/3 of the way through and it's actually quite difficult to complete missions now), graphics and music are pretty decent as well (even though there are only like 3 tracks on the soundtrack)
I'm curious if the devs have any plans for local or online coop, since it seems like it'd be quite fun in the same vein as mindustry especially since the difficulty you could throw at players could become far higher since a considerable limiter is simply the player's max APM due to the character's movespeed and their own thought process.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 4 sampled reviews and are not shown.
