I feel like the first two VNs of the trilogy were consistently great in plot and character development with mostly good pacing outside of Extra's side heroine routes.
It's just a teenage romance story with some cool fight scenes and solid voice acting that makes you want to yell out "ryōkai" with the rest of the squad every time the leader says something badass.
Gameplay (4/5) – Aside from the UI elements looking like they were made for Windows XP-era of software, Alternative features all the expected features of a competent visual novel.
Graphics/Artwork (4/5) – Improvements for the Steam release include higher quality CG artwork and 16:9 widescreen support.
