Aside from taking advantage of beautifully animated sprites and a Game Boy-inspired color scheme that provides an aesthetic experience, Planet Cube: Edge also succeeds in making the audio-visuals keep up with the gameplay variety thanks to no short amount of tilesets and backgrounds.
The dialogue and characters really didn't need to exist for a game like this, but honestly I found both of these aspects to be delightful and made me smile during breaks between sections.
The sound effects and music match the retro style and are not overpowering or annoying to listen to.
Gameplay-wise, Edge is graced with fast movement and splendid diagonal controls as well as abilities that unlock as you progress.
Default setting also does not promote faster gameplay, remapping helps a LOT and greatly improved my experience, might try with a controller later.
