Blasphemous delivers deliberate, punishing combat that blends Souls-like stamina management with classic Metroidvania exploration.

The art direction is nothing short of peak, the doom style executions are so much bloody and gory fun, the upgrade and level up system keep the combat enticing and fresh, and every environment is more inspired, beautiful, and creative than the last.

The narrative is opaque but powerful, steeped in themes of guilt, penance, and blind devotion.

There are even challenges in new game plus and in the achievements that make ramp up the difficulty in a way that adds a bunch of new layers of cruelty but also genuine fun into the game.

I loved the art style both visually and aesthetically, music was jamming, voices were good- I played in English Dub.

The soundtrack is solemn and mournful, perfectly capturing Cvstodia’s sorrow and fanaticism.
