It has a largely warm colour pallet in its graphics, from the UI to the tiles of the environments.
Add in the semi-random placement of buildings in cities on the map, and replayability is excellent.
It also included a great deal of scenarios and a new campaign.
Great soundtrack too and even has old vintage clips of the old railroad industry, along with old vintage clips/gifs that play in your little icon box when you click on a button to do something like build more tracks or purchase trains.
Railroad Tycoon 3 retains the vast majority of this game's mechanics with some changes and additions to make it more realistic, but I find this game to have a more appealing user interface, better sound design, and it also serves as an easier starting point compared to its sequel for newcomers.
