EARTHLOCK

The gameplay is quite slick as a whole, with fast transitions between combat and exploration along with quick battle animations that’ll get you inputting your next round of attacks within a few seconds of the last one going off.

Even though turn based combat offers no innovation, it is still my favorite combat method and is really well done in this game.

The graphics and sound are lovely with a hand painted and very old school style music selection that really helps root the world.

There’s an ammo system for weapons, and a decent cast of characters, I’ve already seen at least 5 playable characters, out of possibly 6.

All told, I’d say EARTHLOCK is a decent enough RPG for the price, but one better suited to younger gamers looking to break into the RPG scene, where the quick gameplay and forgiving difficulty can keep them engaged while their heightened imaginations can fill in the gaps in the story and characterisation.

There are no voice actors in this, everything is told via text, but the ambient audio and overall soundtrack were very enjoyable though after spending a long time in the in-game Farm growing plants, the too-quickly looping music there started to irritate a little.
