What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
A masterfully crafted, gorgeous gameplay experience from start to finish that manages to be original by introducing the new "Double Gear" speed/power mechanic while still remaining true to the series.
While the engine isn't pushing any boundaries, the scenery is gorgeous and resembles the hand-painted backgrounds for Mega Man 8, and the characters have solid models and textures, as well as exceptionally charming animations.
Characters are expressive, animations are smooth, and environments are vibrant without being overly busy.
Impressive design, direction, and presentation with great voice acting, a ton of character, wonderful bosses, and some of the most diverse and well-rounded weapons in the series.
In terms of the technical side of things, the game is well optimized.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No recurring complaints surfaced in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
