What players think
The recurring themes across 297 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
One of the things I like about student projects is for the most part they at least try to understand that narrative is a core part of gaming and they got the idea here.
First is the art style which is pretty simplistic but IMO works very well with small atmospheric games even tho the model of the main character kinda stands out with its 3D gradientish look.
To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here.
Instead, the game's story unfolds organically through environmental storytelling, subtle visual cues, and immersive audio design.
Using a console controller is an improvement but not by much.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 4 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
