Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass

I enjoyed the story-telling technique, but I feel it fell a bit flat in the end.

Exploration is also a major part of Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass.

Great battle mechanics—the difficulty level is adjustable if you just want to play through the story, but I think it's worth putting in the extra time, because this is some of the most fun I've had with turn-based battles in a long time.

Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass has standard turn-based RPG combat, though with enough unique elements and little touches to make it stand out.

The game's soundtrack only adds to the atmosphere, as it has some of the most creepy tracks you might ever hear in a game, along with some of the most emotional songs for sad parts of the game, and even relaxing songs for some of the lighter parts of the game.

It works completely with the aesthetic the graphics provide(which as I mentioned earlier go from very happy to very very dark over the course of the game.) The best analogue I can come up with for this game is if Earthbound met FFV in a dark alleyway for a drug fueled rendezvous.
