Thief: Deadly Shadows

The levels themeselves are extensive and credible; compulsive explorer players may desire to linger and search these sandbox-style maps to the full in order to collect 100% treasure.

One particular level stands out as a ground-breaking piece of atmospheric story-telling: the chilling Shalebridge Cradle was regarded as a tidemark by Thief fans and became famous within gaming circles.

Thief 3 is a real mixed bag: you've got fantastic level design, amazing lighting and atmosphere; then you've got awful, clunky controls, generally smaller levels, and a tedious hub between missions.

Stephen Russell’s voice acting as Garrett is particularly notable, bringing depth and personality to the protagonist and reinforcing the game’s noir-like atmosphere.

Another change that seems like an improvement initially is that loot + inventory items now carry over between missions (a big criticism in previous games is that gold carried over only to the next mission).

Personally, I like playing it with a PS4 gamepad (which works vanilla plugged in out of the box without using the usual DS4Windows app) rather than mouse+keyboard since a controller enables smooth analog camera panning and movement but that's just my choice.
