Guns'n'Stories: Bulletproof VR

The story told by the whiskey-drinkin', cigar-smokin' grandpa is humorous and rich in over-the-top Wild-West flavor.

The graphics are some of the cleanest and well produced of any VR game on the market right now.

The game itself is a fun, generic shooter, with simple controls: you either get one-handed weapons in either hand, or two-handed weapons with an alternate-fire on the off-hand trigger: for these, as a lefthanded player, I was glad of the "left-hand" mode in the settings.

The gameplay is always ahead or to the side of you, on a few levels: but never behind or above, which is good because most VR sensors aren't great at detecting actions when you're facing away from the sensors, or handling looking straight up.

Sound effects for gunfire and enemy reactions are punchy and clear, supporting the fast-paced nature of the combat without unnecessary complexity.

VR games tend to try to make "immersive" UIs, and this is no exception, but it at least does it well: the main menu UI is atmospheric: the old man's office with the drawers of the desk representing menu items and trophies on the desk representing replayable chapters (and hence, game completion).
