What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The mechanics are pretty well-optimized, everything moves nicely, but sometimes soldiers hit the walls by accident (they go back to normal very quick, it just happens).
Storytelling felt a bit tighter, still not marvelous but definitely a step-up from the origin. 47 returning to contract work after being a gardener due to an unfortunate event gives the plot a stronger investment to see things through than having to drudge yet another assignment from the days of old.
Each location feels distinct, supported by Jesper Kyd’s hauntingly atmospheric soundtrack that seamlessly blends orchestral and electronic tones.
The graphics for the year 2002 are wonderful, the soundtracks are very enjoyable, the atmosphere varies from tunnels, buildings, cities and even more areas, also the countries vary, such as Russia, India, Sicily, etc.
The music is solid, the audio design holds up, and you unlock weapons as you go, which is a neat throwback feature.
They are well optimized, and they are wonderful even on budget computers.
