Ashes of Oahu

Loved the game. back when it was named night-marchers i was overly hyped about it. playing through it i was utterly disappointed but still had some fun with the open world and the crazy traps, enemies, story-line, animals, spells, guns and environment. it still feels very apocalyptic while providing a environment that feels human-like and scared.

I didn’t feel like this necessarily hindered the experience due to a decently constructed modification system for weapons, but it certainly isn’t Borderlands by any means.

The setting is great, the dialogue is interesting, and Kai isn't some bland bootlicker who NPC-simps for fun.

The graphics are beautifully cell shaded with mostly very detailed textures, the characters have nice models if lacking in some detailed animation, the animals feel good enough and like they belong in the world (until they run into a building and get stuck), the buildings look as you would expect in the post-apocalyptic world the game is set in, it feels a well-defined game world.
