Forsaken Remastered

They vary it up enough, add more and more different fun looking and challenging enemies, and the environments just look great with cool animated textures, nice varied lighting and overall satisfying level design.

The story is a bit 90's barebones, a cheesy backdrop, but still, the flow of missions, the objectives, the progression is solid enough to motivate someone to keep pushing onwards.

The game had an awesome soundtrack too, so I would sometimes pop the CD in just to listen to the music (this was back when PC games often stored their soundtracks onto the CDs as audio tracks, so there could be high quality music that doesn't take up harddrive space, so you listen to it as if it were a music CD).

Now the game isnt all bad, the controls have definitely improved, i play with an xbox controller and the handleing feels so well compared to the slow and sluggish n64.

Though this remaster doesn't feature dynamic lighting/shadowing as far as I can tell, there's still really nice coloured baked lighting in moody dark levels, and as mentioned in combat how everything lights up is satisfying, the particle effects are great, wobbly water looks great as well.

The lives work well at regular difficulties while save scumming became necessary for certain high difficulty challenges.
