What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
It's gonna make you say dayum, or maybe even daayuuuum, which is totally understandable – this genre is rarely associated with eye-catching, polished 3D graphics; the best thing you typically get are a bunch of pixels, as the primary focus of shmups is always the gameplay.
A million little things to collect and bars to fill but all the pretty effects can clutter the screen and there's no toggles for things like screen shake or bullet colors (and only AA and resolution in terms of graphics), and the constant spoken feedback of you picking up upgrades (not even sure why this mechanic was included, other than the genre demands it.
You can still use a gamepad – it may seem much more convenient and even natural at first, but later levels and higher difficulties require degrees of precision hardly obtainable with an analogue stick.

• Soundtrack is really good, dialog is funny and characters are fairly well-written for an arcade game.
Ran great on steam deck, no slowdown or stuttering.
