There are a smattering of gameplay tweaks / UI changes that are honestly beneficiary, such as being able to bind two weapons/etc to the L1 and R1 buttons for quick access, and dashing/sprinting is far more user friendly now (if a little less fun!) But the remaster doesn't do anything to improve some of the more annoying aspects of the combat and leveling system.
