In general, I find those types of shooting games could work really well in VR and Rez has great visuals, I just would love there to be a hard mode or something.

Gameplay
Players who bring up Gameplay mostly praise it.
Gameplay wise it's an total blast to play through, it really does send you into a kind of trance as the simple act of shooting down polygonal starfox-esque ships is wonderfully satisfying, each enemy is well animated and play various samples and sounds as you shoot them down which really adds to the feel of the game

Audio
Players who bring up Audio mostly praise it.
I'll be darned if this isn't the most perfect techno soundtrack ever put into a game, a fantastic blend of atmospheric pumping electronic beats from some of the best Japanese techno artists such Keiichi Sugiyama, Jojouka and legendary producer Ken Ishii.

With that being said, the fluid feeling you get with mouse control absolutely blows controller out of the water.

What makes this game special for me is that is a very unique experience, it's a story told without words in a world thats very well realised and it's immediately immersive, playing this game put you in a trance.

I would also recommend playing this on the Steam Deck if you have it, just be sure to turn V-sync off.
