The graphics are as timelessly classic as the music, it's shocking that a game from 2001 on the Sega Dreamcast and Playstation 2 can still look this amazing almost 20 years later and that's down to very deliberate and simplistic art choices, the levels and enemies are all flat textured and wire-frame in nature.

Gameplay wise it's an total blast to play through, it really does send you into a kind of trance as the simple act of shooting down polygonal starfox-esque ships is wonderfully satisfying, each enemy is well animated and play various samples and sounds as you shoot them down which really adds to the feel of the game

I'll be darned if this isn't the most perfect techno soundtrack ever put into a game, a fantastic blend of atmospheric pumping electronic beats from some of the best Japanese techno artists such Keiichi Sugiyama, Jojouka and legendary producer Ken Ishii.

The aiming is infintely easier when you can actually use your touch controller to point at objects to target, and the ability to look around the entire environment allows a sense of space that was not available before.

It looks gorgeous, and comes with an extra mini-mission with some pretty fancy, high-FPS visuals.

It has mouse controls--a feature that was previously exclusive to the Sega Dreamcast original; sharper textures, virtual reality support; if your computer is a monster blocker: 16k maximum resolution; it's Steam Deck verified, which means the Steam port is portable--the only official port to have this distinction.
