Their abilities on the other hand do not fit into Quake's core gameplay loop at all your ability or "ultimate" is essentially a free win button, ID should add an option to matchmaking to play with abilities enabled or not.
To start this review the game has great character designs, they all come from different dimensions and uniquely stand out from each other, each character also has unique first person animations and it's really nice attention to detail, however the roster falls a little short and maybe ID should reintroduce older Quake characters like Crash or Bones for nostalgia value.
I grew up playing Quake III Arena back in the 2000s, my first real online multiplayer experience.
Quake Champions - Closest thing to the OG Quake experience with great graphics, gameplay and sound!
Quake 3 hit the gaming scene so hard that for a good five or so years the only thing that was really buzzing on the FPS wire were it and games like it.
The sound design is ironically less impressive than quake 3 s, ESPECIALLY the announcer and the ost that sometimes sounds like some ai ambient slop
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. One more theme was raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and is not shown.
