It is definitely some uncanny valley stuff going on with everyone looking like anime characters, but they use semi-realistic skin textures which makes a lot of the characters (particularly the males) look pretty creepy and unsettling.
Gameplay in The Last Hope centers around fast-paced, real-time combat with a party of up to four characters, each with their own distinct playstyle and skill set.
(I played with Japanese voices - and note, I do speak Japanese fairly fluently, though English is my first language) 95% fully voiced, subtitles are well translated and localized.
The game feels pretty polished, and very optimized.
