What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
I knew how to design an AW map, but to understand WG map design better, I had to pay through the campaign.
Fantastic characters, with a good balance of both gameplay and story.
Doesn't take many risks, but the few it DOES take don't really pay off - I would genuinely prefer a version of the game where commanders are optional - and on the whole you're probably better served sticking with the official Nintendo versions unless you really, really need that online matchmaking.
art style is fantastic and the animations are so SMOOTH!
I am also reviewing as someone who has only played all the vanilla non-multiplayer modes besides the co-op campaign.
There's a great soundtrack, good voice work, extra game modes, map editor, free DLC, rewards for doing everything and clearing each mission as fast as possible.

Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 2 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
