What players think
The recurring themes across 300 analysed reviews: what players praise, what divides them, and what to know.
The story of The Fate of Atlantis can roughly be split into three acts, with the first and last always playing out more or less the same way, but the second offering players a choice on how they wish to proceed.
While the graphics were certainly modern in 1992, they now appear rather nostalgic.
The soundtrack, composed under the direction of Michael Land, is also a great feature of the game.
An excellent addition to the point and click genre, though sadly not defining in its gameplay, Fate of Atlantis is a fun trip chock full of fun characters, generally solid puzzle design and an enjoyable narrative.
Point & Click adventures are really good at presenting inventory and dialog based puzzles, but terrible when it comes to fighting or driving mechanics.
The difficulty is very well balanced, ensuring that both adventure game novices and experienced players will find something to enjoy.
Theme by theme
Every theme is scored by what reviewers actually said about it, not just whether they recommended the game.
No themes split opinion in this sample.
Ranked by how many sampled reviews mention each topic. A topic sits in a column by what reviewers said about that topic; the percentage beside it is how many of them recommended the game anyway. 3 more themes were each raised by fewer than 6 sampled reviews and are not shown.
